I watched Seinfeld's Bee movie the other day and found it to be enjoyable and wait for it, actually funny! It has been a trend in kid's movies to introduce subtle irony and pun to make movies that entertain not only the target audience (littl'uns) but also their babysitters. It made me think of what this does to the movie experience. I thought maybe the kids would feel separated from the story and feel a bit left out of it if parents enjoy it too much, but the success of these movies disputes that. If both kids and parents enjoy a movie equally a trip from the movies can turn into a shared interest or experience resulting in a closer family relationship. Maybe that's a bit of a stretch but I can remember being taken to see power rangers the movie and being pretty excited, i highly doubt mum shared this excitement. hmm just a thought.
